So what's the big deal about the way we SCANDINAVIANS get our Spey cast out there? Since its beginnings in the 1960's, Scandinavian influence from top tournament casters and fishermen, schooled on famous Salmon/Seatrout rivers of Sweden and the west coast of Norway, have played a mojor role in the development of our highly versatile style. Our style provides tremendous distance, depth and presentation control, all with minimal effort. We use a looped Shooting Head line, available in differing densities, ranging in length from 34 to 42 feet depending on rod length along with thin diameter shooting line. Teamwork from a fast butt hand stroke and relative short uper hand stroke, ( overall about half the movement of traditional style casting ), a sudden stop to unload, forms narrow loops that can slice bread. These very narrow loops help make very long casts turn right over. This style cast is most effective with faster taper, yet very light rods. Enter G.Loomis STINGER SERIES two-hand rods. These rods have just the right action, a powerful butt transitioning smoothly to a fast tip that will deliver the razor loops characteristic of the Scandinavian method of spey casting. Our style will keep you on the water longer, a smile on your face, and without a case of the "jelly arms." For the needs of the SCANDINAVIAN style of casting, we offer the ROARINGRIVER STINGER series. With eight rods, ranging from 12'6" to 15', these rods were designed to optimally cast floating or intermediate shooting heads of 33 to 46 ft. This is the most recent development in two-hand casting, a much faster, shorter stroke using the lower hand (underhand casting). These rods help you generate high line speed and give you great shooting distance casts. With a fast action taper, these rods let you make overhead false casts, generating the highest line speed possible. That's assuming you have sufficient room for back casting, such as gravel bar or ocean beaches. STINGER GLX - At first glance you'll notice the nickel titanium recoil guides by REC, which are different both in looks and function. Weighing about as much as one individual traditional guide, the total weight of the rod is noticably lighter. They're also flexible, making a mistake like catching a tree branch, nothing but a slight hang up. Exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles with a special composite cork end-cap and fore-grip fitted to our exclusive offset-oval sculptured our proprietary GLX graphite tapered to the exact standards of Skandinavian style casting. STINGER ALTA - These tods help you generate very high line speed thanks to a special graphite blend forulated for a fast action. With premium Hopkins and Halloway components and beautiful Portuguese cork handles, the Alta offers everything you could want for Scandinavian style casting. | FR15078-3Length: 12'6"Line: 7 - 8Pieces: 3 | This rod is for smaller rivers and gentle presentations. The heavier line will help stabilize the swing and hold depth in faster water. At just 12'6" it still feels very light in hand, and is a vary capable "Overhead" casting rod should backcast space open up, and the urge to cast this way takes over. |

| FR150910-3Length: 12'6"Line: 9 - 10Pieces: 3 | Powerhouse little rods. These guys are for heavy flies and good size fish in all but the most demanding distance situations. The heavier line may actually reduce the need for you to overstress to make a long cast. With this line class, wind is of little consequence. 36 to 38 feet heads are most comfortable as the stiffer rod provides a longer working lever, and manages this length quite will. As a fast and powerful rod, it is a joy to overhead cast and can serve double duty for salt water surf fishing, and even reaching the drop off ledges for creatures from the abyss. |
