Gloomis Saltwater Series Rods
There are plenty of reasons you might want a graphite saltwater stand-up rod. If less weight and greater sensitivity top your wish list, the Saltwater Series will fill the bill beyond your wildest expectations. To create these rods, we use a specially formulated graphite material, made to our exacting standards, then manufacture it on highly sophisticated equipment that creates an incredibly dense laminate. What does that mean in English? Simply this: you get a rod half the weight of fiberglass models, yet with all the lifting and fighting power you could possibly want. With the help of saltwater experts on both coasts, we've developed very specific rod actions to suit the application of each rod. The light-duty models range from 12 to 25-pound line ratings and they're excellent for blues, stripers, king mackerel and small groupers. The medium-duty rods range from 25 to 40-pound line, with plenty of power for sailfish and striped marlin, yet they're light enough to enjoy smaller species like albacore and yellowtail. The heavy-duty rods range from 40 to 80-pound line and they can handle everything from tuna to big halibut. Most of the rods feature oversized, braced ceramic guides to allow for oversize knots and shock tippets. Standard models come equipped with hypalon grips and heavy-duty reel seats. Trolling models come with hard, durable Delron rear grips and gimbals which allow them to easily slip in and out of rod holders.

The rods were replaced with the Gloomis Pelagic Saltwater Fishing Rods

Gloomis Saltwater Series Rods
SWR72-50C   Length: 6'   Line: 50 lb.   Casting
A fast-action, six-foot stand-up rod designed to fish live bait or jigs for halibut, grouper and other bottom feeders. This is a good tuna rod when the fish come to the corner in wide open party boat situations, and it's great for fishing deep-water wrecks or blue holes where you need to move fish away from structure in a hurry. Roller tip-top and stripper guides make it easier to retrieve heavy rigs, even under a heavy load, which makes landing big fish all the smoother. The rest of the guides are braced ceramic. And Hypalon grips accompany a quality, Delron saltwater reel seat along with a gimbal and removable soft rubber butt-cap.

 SWR72-80C   Length: 6'   Line: 80 lb.   Casting
This powerful, 80-pound rod is almost too heavy for stand-up fishing, but with the new graphite technology and ultra-thin braided lines, it makes a great spoon-jig or bait rod for fishing big grouper, halibut or sharks. Trollers, meanwhile, will appreciate the short, six-foot lever-action for marlin and big tuna. Hypalon grips, heavy-duty saltwater reel seats, and a removable rubber cap and gimbal give you every advantage possible. Roller tip-top and stripper guides make retrieves easier.

SWR84-16C    Length: 7'   Line: 16 lb.   Casting
The first of our seven footers, this is a great light-line stand-up rod for species like stripers, blues and albacore. A good choice if you're going for a line-class record, it's soft enough to protect light line, yet still has the power to handle oversize fish. Considered by many to be one of the top kingfish rods in the business, it's also liked by freshwater anglers going for small to medium-sized sturgeon or catfish. Last but not least, it makes a good all-purpose rod for trolling lures with downriggers or side-planers out on the Great Lakes or the ocean.

We consider this a "sneaky" powerful stand-up stick, designed to cast or troll for stripers, tuna, albacore, bluefish, dorado, tautog, cod, drum or cobia.  Considered by many to be the finest calico bass rod ever made, this rod can fish live bait, lead-heads and squid, light iron or plastic. The nine-foot length gives you an extreme casting arc, developing tremendous speed for long-distance casts, and it helps keep the fish clear of the boat when you get in close. It's so light for its size, you'll be flabbergasted at the power and energy you experience. A true revelation in the art of chunking iron, the 108-20C features extra-long cork grips and a graphite trigger-grip reel seat.

SWR108-25C   Length: 9'   Line: 25 lb.   Casting
This nine-foot "big iron" rod is built for long-distance casting to kelp beds with iron jigs. Yet it's perfectly capable of fishing live bait or lead-heads around rocks. The extra length helps keep the fish clear of the boat when you get in close and extends your casting range to put your bait in The Zone. You'll be able to reach fish that nobody else on the boat can even come close to. This makes a nice jetty rod for stripers and big drum, too. It has a long, tape-cork handle with barrel reel seat for positive reel control and extra leverage for those big casts.
