I purchase an
Imperial combo. This is a very smooth
casting rod with excellent response. I fish a lot, and this rod
is an excellent performer. The 4 piece is a great travel rod.
This is a fine rod at any price. The low price, however, makes
this rod an outstanding first choice for someone with two kids
in college! Performance per dollar puts this rod near the top.
This rod will make you wonder why anyone would pay 4 to 6 times

I have never written to a company before
except to request product information, or to have a product
refunded. Last year, I purchased one of your fly rods from
Fish-On in Butte, Montana. I purchased a Pro-Graphite 9' 6 wt.
rod which I planned on using as one of my winter rods, and
because of your warranty. I planned on using this rod as a back
up on an Alaskan fishing trip for sockeyes and kings last June
in Yakutat. Everyone told me the rod was way undersized, but to
be honest, I was hesitant in taking any of my Powell rods
because of the lack of warranty and fear of breaking these rods
which I had built.
To make a long story short, this 6 wt. rod
became my primary rod on the Alaskan fishing trip. I landed
numerous (in the hundreds) sockeyes and I was the only person in
our party to land numberous kings on a 6 wt. rod. My partners
ended up breaking 3 rods which were significantly higher in
cost, plus I was able to land a fresh (not a stale) 30+
lb.spawner king on this fly rod. I have pictures to prove this
story.
During the last 9 months, I have yet to
seriously fish with any other rod in Montana except for my 6 wt.
St. Croix rod I purchased. I love the action for nymphing, and
the ability to throw small midges this time of year. I just
wanted to say thank you. I am truly a believer in your product
and look forward to purchasing another rod for a Canadian pike
trip this coming May.

I have fished with other sticks, and they just can't compare
with the quality of St. Croix. I have also been extremely
pleased that any time I have ever needed any kind of service
your people have always been great to deal with. If everyone
had a staff such as yours, it would be a lot easier to do
business everywhere. I will continue to purchase and use your
products until I am no longer able to fish, which I hope is a
very long time from now!
