| Loomis Casting Rods |
Our
Casting Rods are designed for
accurate, low-trajectory
casting, which makes them ideal
for fishing in tight quarters,
around low overhanging limbs and
heavy cover. The five-and-a-half
footers are short enough to make
highly accurate mid-range casts,
stout enough to handle big bass
and equipped with pistol grips
for positive control. They also
work well for vertical jigging,
where boat position is important
and a straight vertical
presentation is paramount for
success. The lighter models work
especially well with top-water
lures and small grubs or jigs,
making them a good choice for smallmouths. The medium-power
rods are good all-around bass
and walleye rods for fishing spinnerbaits, 4 to 6-inch worms
and small jigs. The heavier rods
are for jig & pig combos,
big worms and large spinnerbaits,
making them ideal for largemouth
bass and northerns. They all
feature cork grips. The
six-footers have 7-inch straight
rear grips that are offset
approximately 12 degrees to
minimize wrist fatigue and
improve casting control. The
reel seat features
blank-thru-handle construction,
with a one-inch cutaway in front
of the trigger that we call
"mag-touch." By
exposing the blank in this area,
your index finger makes direct
contact with the blank giving
you even greater sensitivity. |

CR661
Length:
5'6"
Power: 1
Pieces: 1
Casting
Designed
for fishing small spinnerbaits
and leadhead jigs in
clear-water rivers and lakes
(where a shorter rod is
beneficial for both accuracy
and lure presentation), the
CR661 is also a good choice
for vertical jigging in
situations when boat position
is critical. The 5'6"
length gives the angler
maximum pressure, still
protecting the lighter lines
for which it's rated. It's
also a nice small stream rod,
where smaller baits are
essential for success and
those medium-sized fish can
put a decent bend in your rod.
While the IMX graphite
certainly makes this rod light
and sensitive, accuracy and
control may be the CR661's
most dynamic features.

CR662
Length: 5'6"
Power: 2
Pieces: 1
Casting
|
A
fast-action rod with a medium
power rating, the CR662 is a
very good spinnerbait rod,
especially in tight quarters
where the 5'6" length
allows an angler more elbow
room for casting accuracy and
lure control. The short
(4.5") pistol grip
further enhances casting
control and lure presentation.
It's also an exceptional
vertical jigging rod for
walleyes. And bass anglers
fishing spinnerbaits and light
jigs around boat docks or
brushy coves really appreciate
its perfect blend of length
and power. Last but not least,
the 662 has just the right
action for working topwater
lures, and it's length allows
the angler to keep the rod tip
low, further enhancing lure
control and presentation.

CR663
Length: 5'6"
Power: 3
Pieces: 1
Casting
The
CR663 is a fast-action rod
with a medium-heavy power
rating, making it a good
choice for fishing
medium-to-large spinnerbaits-especially
in tight quarters where the
angler requires more
maneuverability for casts
under brushy overhangs and
docks. The 5'6" length
provides increased leverage
for moving fish from heavy
cover, with plenty of reserve
power for oversized surprises.
It handles medium-to-large
plastic worms and jigs equally
well, and it's a good vertical
jigging rod for river bass and
walleyes. Especially in deep
water where boat position is
paramount. A great rod for
getting in the thick stuff and
throwing blades, its compact
size provides quick, accurate
casts.

CR721
Length: 6'
Power: 1 Pieces:
1 Casting
A
fast-action rod with a light
power rating, the CR721 is
designed to protect light
lines, but still has
substantial power for moving
large fish to the boat. The
softer tip increases casting
accuracy, making it easy to
snap cast small to
medium-sized baits at
difficult targets like pocket
water, boat docks and rip-rap.
It's a good choice for fishing
crystal-clear water that
doesn't have a lot of heavy
cover, where light line is an
advantage. The six foot length
allows you plenty of
flexibility for both casting
and depth control, while the
light action provides a
perfect balance between
flexibility and strength:
enough softness to allow fish
to inhale the lure, yet enough
power to control the fish. A
great choice for finesse
fishing smallmouth, spotted
bass or walleyes, where
presentation is key and
lighter line is the rule.

CR722
Length: 6'
Power: 2
Pieces: 1
Casting
Here's
one of the most popular and
versatile casting rods in the
entire G·Loomis line, capable
of fishing a variety of lures
and techniques. A good rod for
surface lures and spinnerbaits,
the CR722 is also an excellent
choice for small grubs and
worms, especially when fishing
clear water with 8-10 pound
test. Yet it will handle
larger worms and up to 3/8
ounce jigs. If you like to
fish Red Fins, Long A's or
Rapalas, you'll like this rod
a lot. It has enough power to
move fish away from cover, but
it's much better as an open
water rod. Walleye anglers
like this rod for drifting
jigs and grubs where you need
a softer tip to see what's
happening at the line's end as
well as feel it.

CR723
Length: 6'
Power: 3
Pieces: 1
Casting
As a freshwater rod, the CR723
was originally designed to
fish bass, pike and walleyes,
but it doubles nicely as a
light-saltwater rod for snook,
redfish and specks. It has a
powerful tip, which allows for
a good hook set, with ample
power to move fish away from
heavy cover. But it still has
the flexibility to fish a
"super-spook" for
surface action. Where this rod
really shines is throwing
spinnerbaits around docks,
tule berms, rock outcroppings
and other visible ambush
points. It has sufficient
length to increase casting
range, without being
cumbersome in close quarters.
Anglers probing the bays and
bayous for snook and redfish
like this rod because you can
make quick, accurate casts
without sacrificing power or
performance. If you had only
one rod for all of your
fishing, and shorter was
better, this would be our
choice.

CR724
Length: 6'
Power: 4
Pieces: 1 Casting
A
powerful tip and butt make the
CR724 a good choice for
fishing jigs, worms and slow
rolling big spinnerbaits. It's
basically a black bass rod,
but has power aplenty for
stripers up to 15 pounds,
snook, or even peacock bass.
Anglers that hook a surprise
muskie now and then will also
appreciate the power of this
rod. It's an excellent choice
for jigging spoons in heavy
timber or vertical jig and
worm presentations. Its stiff
tip allows you to set the hook
with authority, and it has
more than enough backbone to
move large fish away from
obstructions. This is an ideal
rod for Midwest bass anglers,
where you find more trees and
brush than casting area.
Whether you're slow-rolling
oversized spinnerbaits on
Santee Cooper or tossing
surface lures for peacock bass
in Venezuela, this one will
handle it.View/Buy
