The SR series is a collection of light-duty and ultralight freshwater spinning rods. They were never dubbed with a snazzy name like "Spin Jig" or "Backbounce" or "Hot Shot," but that doesn't make them any less high-performance. We designed them primarily for trout and panfish, but in reality they satisfy a multitude of different applications: bass fishing with lures like the Redfin or Rapala; shad fishing with darts and jigs; small baits or jigs for bonefish; grubs for seatrout; even spinner fishing for silvers in Alaska. Now, don't get us wrong—these aren't "jig rods," per se. (While they do have a fast taper, they don't have the magnum-power butt section of our Spin Jig Series.) Rather, they're a highly versatile family of rods for practically any light-duty situation. And they come in a wide range of powers, lengths and actions to suit virtually any lighter line situation. If you tend to fish in tight quarters, we suggest the shorter models for better maneuverability. If you have more room to move, take a look at the longer versions; the extra length will help protect those light lines and you'll be able to cast them further when the need arises.

SR541    Length: 4'6"    Power: 1    Pieces: 1    Spinning
This is an unbelievable ultralight spinning rod, designed for small streams and ponds where you need tiny lures. It has a moderate action that helps protect light line, but it packs a surprising amount of strength for its size. It's a great little trout rod for backpackers and, at four and a half feet, it's also an excellent choice for youngsters.

SR6010    Length: 5'    Power: 1-Light    Pieces: 1    Spinning
Our best selling ultralight spinning rod. The 6010 is a sweetheart of a crappie rod, and it'll be your best friend on a little trout stream. We call it a "light" 1-power because it has a little faster action tip than our typical 1-power rating (thus the "0" at the end of the model number). It's as tough an ultralight as we make, and will handle almost any oversize surprise. The GL3 and IMX versions feature our ultralight fixed reel seat, while the GL2 model comes with cork and sliding rings.

When anglers asked for a two-piece version of our SR720, we made it with GL3 graphite to keep it as light as possible without sacrificing durability. SR781-1   Length: 6'6"   Power: 1    Pieces: 1   Spinning
Soft enough to protect light line, yet subtly strong and responsive, the 781-1 is a classic ultralight trout rod. To make it as light as possible, we manufacture this rod only in IMX, giving it a lot of extra sensitivity. That makes it a good choice for deep-water crappie and white bass, as well as casting small spinners for trout. It features our long, ultralight cork handle with a fixed reel seat.

SR782-2    Length: 6'6"    Power: 2    Pieces: 2    Spinning
A good all-around spinning rod for big trout in smaller streams, the 782-2 handles spinners and small lures extremely well. That makes it a nice small stream bass rod for canoeists and rafters, and the two-piece configuration makes it easy to store and transport. SR783-2    Length: 6'6"    Power: 3    Pieces: 2    Spinning
Designed to fish up to 10 pound test and lures of up to 3/8 of an ounce, this fast action rod excels in strong currents and deep-water situations. It may not have the powerful butt that you'll find in the Spin Jig series, but it's more than adequate for large trout, bass and walleye using lures with exposed hooks or bait. It also makes a pretty good finesse rod for warmwater species when lighter line's required, and it has the chops to handle pickerel, small pike and shad. Available in GL3 graphite, it weighs less than 4 ounces.

SR841-2    Length: 7'    Power: 1    Pieces: 2    Spinning
This is a dandy two-piece ultralight spinning rod, designed for lakes and ponds where longer casts and lighter line lead to success. The combination of the seven-foot length and the ultralight action makes it a good deep-water panfish rod. And if you like to fish bubble/fly combinations for trout, this rod will certainly do the trick, especially with a smaller bubble. It's also a nice rod for drifting single salmon eggs (or imitations) for trout in small streams. All in all, we consider this the perfect four-pound test rod. It's extremely sensitive, weighs only 2.95 ounces, and it comes in an attractive rodsock for extra protection.

SR842-2    Length: 7'    Power: 2    Pieces: 2    Spinning
Here's a real nice small river trout and grayling rod. Ideal for six pound test, the 842-2's seven-foot length affords longer casts, making fishing from shore a pleasure. It has sufficient backbone to handle bonefish and works well for shad as long as you don't need a lot of weight. Spinner anglers will appreciate the light tip and fast action for fishing small to medium-sized blades. Available in GL3, IMX and GLX, each comes in an attractive, soft, protective rodsock. And each features the G·Loomis no-wobble reel seat.
